In the Beatles song where they sing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds I never knew that they were referring to the drug LSD. Now my co-worker thinks I'm strange.
What other obscure song lyrics refer to drugs or other illegal activities that are worded a special way?

I cannot believe no one has mentioned Dylan's Mr. Tambourine Man.
Some of the best lyrics ever...
Then take me disappearing through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you.
I love that song. Take THAT Shakespeare !! :|
I saw Bob do a show with Willie Nelson about 4 months ago. Dylan played a horrible set. Willie actually rocked. However I did see Dylan at a Memphis In May Music Festival about 5 years ago, and it was great.

Dr. Feelgood was a Motley Crue song?

"Hits from the bong," IMO, refers to people smoking marijuana out of a water pipe. I gathered this opinion from some of the artists' other songs such as the one entitled, "I Want to get High."
