i was sitting in a store today waiting for my SO to sell some stuff (one of those used clothing stores). and this horrific song comes on. at the end of it i was ready to stab a pencil through my eardrums just to make it stop. worst song i have ever heard. the 'singing' could barely be called that, the guitar was the same 3/4 measure over and over again. just awful. so i get home, and google it.

i get this crap. just seeing it makes me want to stab my eyes out:

Yeah, my girlfriend takes me home when I'm too drunk to drive
And she doesn't get all jealous when I hang out with the guys
She laughs at my dumb jokes when no one does
She brings me mexican food from Sombrero's just because
(Yeah, just because)

And my girlfriend likes U.L. and D.H.C.
And she's so smart and independent, I don't think she needs me
Quite half as much as I know I need her
I wonder why there's not another guy that she'd prefer

And when I feel like giving up
Like my world is falling down

I show up at 3am
She's still up watching Vacation, and I
See her pretty face
It takes me away to a better place and

I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything,
Everything's gonna be fine
I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything,
Everything's gonna be fine

Yeah, my girlfriend takes collect calls from the road
And it doesn't seem to matter that I'm lacking in the bulge
She laughs at my dumb jokes when no one does
She brings me mexican food from Sombrero's just because

And when I feel like giving up
Like my world is falling down

I show up at 3am
She's still up watching Vacation, and I
See her pretty face
It takes me away to a better place and

I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything,
Everything's gonna be fine.
I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything,
Everything's gonna be fine.
I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything,
Everything's gonna be fine.
I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything,
Everything's gonna be fine.

I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything,
Everything's gonna be fine.
I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything,
Everything's gonna be fine.
I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything,
Everything's gonna be fine.
I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything,
Everything's gonna be fine.

probably because they couldn't agree on the number of times to repeat, "I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything, Everything's gonna be fine."

Dude, its a genre of music. You don't like it, then don't listen to it. Sure, it may not fit the standard of music that you listen to, but they are one of the most successful bands of all time (probably in top 15?). I have to tell you though, since they digitally enrich the sound of their music, they are worse live.

if you call braying llamas in heat music i guess you can call this spew music too.

i've made better music sitting on the can.

if they're in the top 15 i've lost all faith in today's youth. not that i had much.

they werent bad when I first saw them 6 years ago. However, they got MUCH MUCH worse when I was present for their concert about 1.5 years ago working security. Oh man, that was terrible. However, Gwen Stefani is HOT! (she was touring with them)

I am probably wrong on that... maybe top 30? I don't know... but I am pretty sure the top 15 is mostly artists that have been active since the 1960s as back then buying the record was the only way... with today's technological advances, its no suprise that bands don't sell as many albums as they used to ;)

I really like Blink-182. I think their songs are very catchy and have great beats to them. The lyrics are usually funny and they even have a few heart-felt songs that are great too.

Musical opinions are worthless.

Their Take off Your Pants and Jacket album is their best album. Every song on there is amazing.

the definition of success is not sucking as bad as Creed or Nickel Back.

That song is actually one of blink's better songs.....Early Blink (before dude ranch) wasn't that bad at all when you compare it to new Blink. Blink's last album was not bad at all though.

Edro has it right, opinions are worth crap. that said, I thought Take off Your Pants and Jacket was terrible and their worst album.

I used to like them back in the day, but then every single garage band wannabe started sounding like them and I just got sick of it.

The high-pitched, whiney-voice guy bugs the hell out of me...that, IMO, is their greatest downfall. But I seriously can't blame them for the simplicity of the music....Some of my favorite songs by certain bands have no more than 3-4 chords, yet they come out sounding awesome

that song was something I listened to in like 5th grade.

I hope as a full fledged adult you'd find it horrible : )

Here's one source:
http://www.xfm.co.uk/Article.asp?id=153173

And they don't even break Top 100. Although this refers to bands who have released British Singles.

And if you want to go by album sales:

http://www.riaa.com/gp/bestsellers/topartists.asp

They're not even there.
