I never felt so American this weekend. Shot AK47, M4, various side arms, etc.

In America we enjoy the right to spell it Freedom.

Other countries eh? well I can't discharge a weapon legally except at a range $$, how is that fair?

Because in the USA we are citizens who have the right to bear arms. In other countries where the people are disarmed, they are subjects.

That's silly.

That's only because you're an uneducated simpleton.

Historian David Ramsey:

“THE United States are a new nation, or political society, formed at first by the Declaration of Independence, out of those British subjects in America, who were thrown out of royal protection by act of parliament, passed in December, 1775. A citizen of the United States, means a member of this new nation. The principle of government being radically changed by the revolution, the political character of the people was also changed from subjects to citizens.

The difference is immense. Subject is derived from the Latin words, sub and jacio, and means one who is under the power of another; but a citizen is an unit of a mass of free people, who, collectively, possess sovereignty.

Subjects look up to a master, but citizens are so far equal, that none have hereditary rights superior to others. Each citizen of a free state contains, within himself, by nature and the constitution, as much of the common sovereignty as another. In the eye of reason and philosophy, the political condition of citizens is more exalted than that of noblemen. Dukes and earls are the creatures of kings, and may be made by them at pleasure: but citizens possess in their own right original sovereignty.”

I find it disturbing that you think armed robbery, rape, murder, and genocide is exciting. I hope you never own any weapons.

Reminds me of this article on why people are anti-gun:

By the strictest definition, those would in fact be 'exciting', albeit horrifying.

Also, people ITT are taking the OP's title way, way too seriously. He's feeling 'murica, that's okay.

So you are saying until they invented the "assault style rifles" we were subjects? I guess we were subjects from 1994 to 2004 as well. Even now with NRA approved gun laws we don't have the right to bear what ever arms that are available.

JESUS CHRIST, ATOT- you guys.

I just came up with a simple tongue-in-cheek title about enjoying shooting guns in the middle of nowhere. I'm not even into guns.

Y'all got all political, pedantic, and insulting each other in a typical internet forum fashion.

So, you're saying that we basically did what was expected of us?

The OP is saying the using his penis to rape a 14 year old would be macho American.

And no, I don't have any guns anymore. I now find white collar crime much more cerebraly satisfying, just like our president and his cabinet.

Agreed with Madoka on that one. Its one of the first things that crosses my mind when I hear someone complaining about guns.

Just out of curiosity, what were you shooting at? What were your targets?

Shooting outdoors is fun but please clean up your brass and targets afterward.
