Does anyone know a really good way of fücking a US$250 HDD?

I need to make it so it looks like it died a natural death. Or anything that voids my warranty is no good.

See the thing has been giving me ass from day one, and I am going to get it warrantied, but since this is an intermittant problem, I just now that they will flick it on, give it a tick, and send it back to me with a complaint for wasting their time, also wasting my time.

So I have to kill it off totally, and get the warranty.

Oh - I have though microwave, but I want to keep my microwave for future purposes.

Any good ideas?

cheers

While it's running, use a short peice of wire to short out the little chips on the PCB.. you'd want to power it from a benchtop or otherwise unused power supply so you don't do anything to your computer.
