i need you guy's advice on a mobo. please help!

ok guys, i have a big delema. this is the box i was planning to build.

Creative,SB Live Value Sound Card w/ Digital Output
IBM Deskstar 75GXP EIDE Ultra ATA-100 7200RPM
INWIN ATX MID TOWER W/250 PS GREY BEZEL 512MB DDR PC2100 266MHz Certified
Asus A7A266 w/ Thunderbird 1.3Ghz 1300Mhz 266Mhz FSB CPU
ThermalTake Super MiniOrb Fan
Samsung SYNCMASTER 955DF 19IN 18VIS 16X12 .20MM COLMON

but many people have told me of the faultiness of the ALi chipset in the A7A. the A7M is too expensive for me and also has problems with SBLive. what i need is a MOBO with 266MHz bus that supports the 1.3Ghz 266FSB athlon. I need a board prefebly in the 130$ price range. some have reccomended the Epox 8K7A. or some iWill boards. can you guys please reccomend a STABLE board that can support the 1.3 ghz 266FSB and PC2100 DDR SDRAM. this is my first time building a comp and value your input.

i also need a reccomendation on a good case in the 70$ range and a cooling fan for the cpu. thanks again for your time!

oh and lose that thermaltake...they dont cool well...get the taisol copper based hs and a delta fan..and they look pretty cool too...problem witht the thermaltake is its actually two pieces...the base and cooling fins are pressed together but dont have any thermal grease added to make sure any air gap is filled...and thats where they faulter....i took a few apart and pressed them back together using artic silver and it improved the cooling by a few degrees but the taisol is still better and the orbs area b*tch to get apart

wow, this is soo wierd, bascially have the same delema as 187...first time building a computer, need suggestions on mobo..here's the stuff i have:

-Maxtor HD 60GB 7200RPM (considered IBM b4..but friend convince me w/ Maxtor)
-AMD Tbird, 1.2 Ghz 266 MHz FSB
-Crucial 256 MB DDR PC2100
-Microstar Geforce2 Pro 64 MB

bascially need suggestion on mobo, of which i'm most likely to go w/ the Epox8K7A b/c of all the praises in these forums... unless..there's any reasons not to... particularly any imcompatibility w/ geforce2 pro or soundblaster live??? (forgot where i came across that, so maybe just a stupid question)

also any recommendations for case and fan would be great! altho i see them as less important..
