Just make sure it's the same type (Retail vs. OEM vs. Volume License) or your key won't work.
I believe that you can purchase a copy of a Retail CD< but I think that they will tell you to contact the vendor if you have an OEM copy. In that case, PM me.
Well, basically when you buy Windows, you're actually paying for the license, not the software.
So if you can borrow it from some friend, you can install it using his/her CD and your license to register/activate it.
