Swimming = one of the best aerobic exercises you can do.

You'd best swim once a day though, at least at first, for a decent length of time. Eliptical machines and cross trainers at the gym are effective too.

I assume you're trying to lose weight. You should know that exercise is only 25% of the equation if that's your goal.

Swimming is good, I just get bored doing laps after a while. Personally I prefer doing the stationary bike or eliptical motion machines as I can read and listen to music while using those. I just look to goof off too much in a pool, the laps drive me insane.

Twice a day is alot of swimming, you might consider once a day and some weights

I wish I had one of those endless pools. Expensive, though.

They have four of them at my gym.

So you're gonna help me steal one? 😛
That's about the only form of cardio that I enjoy. I don't think my body was built for running/jogging.

well my legs and arms are pretty big just from my work, manual labor, on my feet, for the past 8 years, i just have a gut and am not very flexible, and im hoping to change that

its a great workout do it everyday. try to include weight training in your regime too, dont forget to stretch!

Swimming tends to build long lean muscles instead of thick bulky ones.

Terrific aerobic exercise. I was swimming & water polo teams all through school.

Someone told me a drawback is something about it not being "weight bearing", but I'm not sure why that's meaningful.

Great for you!
