I need to tighten my stomach

A little background: I was about 210lbs (i'm 5'11) when I was about 18... then fluctuated back and forth between 180 and 200 for the next few years. Recently I started playing tennis, and I dropped down to 172...

BUT, I still have some slight man-boobs, as well as like a wad of loose skin around my stomach (especially apparent when I tighten my pants) This is especially troubling since I recently got into a relationship... I want to look better for her!

What i've been doing is eating a little less, and I've been using the Yoga ball and do about 75 crunches when I hit the gym (once or twice a week), I do feel my abs tighten up but the loose skin is still there...

What can I do except for cosmetic surgery?

Crunches are pretty inefficient. Weighted, decline crunches are better, as are leg lifts, and 'floor wipers' where you lay on your back, sweep your legs up and to the left, then make a "U" and go back down, then up to the right. There's a lot of different ab excersizes, and almost all of them are better than crunches.

On top of that, it doesn't matter how strong your abs are if there's fat covering them. Do cardio, and lots of it. Playing tennis is good, also run every day if you can. Get up 20 minutes early and run a couple of miles. Do some sprints. It makes a huge difference. Plus, it wakes you up so you don't feel as dead in the morning too.

I don't think you guys understand... it's extra skin. He gained fat and his skin got stretched out. He lost fat and the skin didn't shrink back to it's original size. As far as I know surgery is the only way to fix this. :(

loose skin is monstly FAT. won't go away.
i;m 5-11 and 155 lbs (down from 180 last year). well i've still got a ton of flab. hitting the gym is great but the easiest thing to do is lower you energy intake.

the human body isn't a piece of misengineered work that can't adapt. the loose skin is always fat UNLESS (AND A BIG UNLESS) he did some crazy diet like atkins and lost 50 lbs in a week.

Find your maintenance calories, then eat less than that level.
Exercise: but it needs to be a regular routine.

google any terms above you don't understand.

There's a point where you should just stop tryin to lose fat and just start gaining lean mass. Then once you get big, try the fat loss thing again.

Hmmm I guess I'll have to stick to a strict gym routine and really really watch what I eat... I've been eating whatever I want, but just a less portion than before...

And no, the weight loss was mostly due to eating less (and less fast food I might add), and more exercise.

here's what to eat. i've been doing this for the last 2 months and lost 10 pounds fat.
don't eat snacks. NO EXCEPTION. if you can't get good food stay hungry.
eat a good breakfast. i eat 2 boiled eggs.
make sure your getting enough protien. this is ultimatly important otherwiseyou end up losing muscle.
if you can't figure oiut how to make low cal food go to the store and buy frozen dinners. i recommend stoffers or kraft's south beach diet. in general any meal with 300-400 calories and 20-30 grams of protien.

ps. DON"T DRINK ALCOHOL or SODA's NO MATTER WHAT
