I need some good single player games. I am mainly into FPS'ers but am willing to try other games that has killer single player action I would like something not to old and that looks good on a decent system(3000+ 64@2.2,1gb 6600GT,ect).

Online games are starting to bore me CS:S/UT2k4.

Have you played FarCry? It's quite good IMO. (I assume you've already played HL2 since you said you play CS:S)

yeah I played and beat HL2 and Far Cry. Didn't like Doom III at all but it looked good. Any other killer FPS'er or other types of games?

Mechwarrior4 Compilation is about $20 at CompUSA, I believe. Set the difficulty to Elite and it should keep you busy a while

MW4 Compilation is MW4 Vengeance, MW4 Black Knight, and MW4 Mercenaries. While it might not knock your eyeballs out in terms of eye candy, it's not just run-&-gun stuff, and building custom 'Mechs is always fun in its own right :D

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines is supposed to be a great game. A vampire RPG based on the Unreal 2 engine.

Soldier of Fortune 2 has a pretty long single player campaign and a random mission generator. Great online FPS, one of the best FPS of all time.

I wrote this about Splinter Cell Chaos Theory;

Thanks for your suggestions, I'm lovin this game, and the graphics are superb on my 6800gt. Played thru level 1, 4 times trying different moves, holds, weapons, no weapons, on and on. This time, it is take it slow, do it right, and enjoy what I paid for, rather than hurry thru the game and move on to the next, heh, my GF likes the new me as well.
I still like FPS games, but this one has added dimension to my gameing.

I bought the game off of Direct2Drive, a first for me. I have all my settings set up on my Nostromo N52, as are all my other Games. It sure is different for me to be sneaking around in a game, bustin chops, rather than slinging lead all over the place. I have been looking for something different to play for quite awhile, this one is doing it for me.

SWAT 4 came out recently as is a great single player game. Has multiplayer too if you wanna get into it, but the single player is great.

Half Life 2 engine... not Unreal 2.

*EDIT* And it's a HOG... extremely crappy frame rates for mediocre graphics.

I've been playing the Rome: Total War single player campaign, and *loving* it. I realize it's not an FPS game, but it's quite engaging to play nonetheless. I'd highly recommend it.

thx all I will look some of these up and go with whichever seems best. On the Splinter Cell series I really enjoyed the first one on Xbox. I played some of Pandora Tomorrow on Xbox aswell but lost my save and didn't want to bother playing through it again. Hows Caos Theory for PC compared to the other 2? Better or basicly the same? BTW I don't have a Xbox anymore so I would have to get it for the PC.

If you like racing games try Mercedes Benz World Racing. It's kinda old, so it should be fairly cheap, but graphics are still very good by today's standards even. Only downside is it's ONLY Mercedes vehicles.

Although I haven't played it very much yet, so far I like Chaos Theory a lot more.

The first two didn't thrill me much at all, because I didn't like how you had to do things exactly the way the developers wrote it. For instance, if you set off an alarm, the game was over. You didn't have the opportunity to recover from your mistake.

CT allows you to get the objective most however you want.
