Do you have a specific city? I really like Texas, except the politic stuff that happends down there.

Austin is nice, San Antonio is great, DFW(my home) is also good. Or there are thousands of small towns, if you like the rural life

Austin is better suited to younger folks . UT + a lot of partying. san antonio is better for older, married families.

anywhere in virginia

Virginia sucks, im moving next year after I graduate.

Northern AZ is nice (Flagstaff or Payson, AZ). Forested, cool, it snows but temps rarely stay below freezing. Intel and Microchip have plants in Chandler and Gilvert, AZ (both pretty much suburbs of Phoenix).

VA and MD have high taxes. Jobs are easy to find in the DC area, but traffic sucks.

PA and OH are nice, but hard to find jobs there.

Northern AZ gets my vote!

Flagstaff and Payson are both running out of water. Also expect to live with a lot of smoke from forest fires. Between the wildfires and the prescribed burns there is smoke in the air more often than there isn't. Decent paying jobs are also hard to come by in AZ outside of the Phoenix wad.

Low crime rate in areas, great nature, friendly people, low traffic, good schools FTW

Not true.... Suburbs in Austin are great for families. You are thinking of midtown or downtown Austin. But the suburbs in Austin (Hill Country, highlands...) are all very, very good for families.

Low crime rate, good nature, good schools, low traffic, and good tech opportunities FTW. Only downside is that it is expensive in regards to Texas to live in Austin. Cheaper than up North though, so if you live up North and move to Austin, you'll like it. The weather tends to be better in Austin than other parts of Texas, too. but you will have to get used to the heat anyways.

Mustang, Oklahoma. That's where I live. Cheap Houses ( I paid 86k for mine and it has a pool, 3bd, 2bath, close to school) Great schools, Close to Oklahoma city (jobs) new jobs are comin here everday! Just got a Dell plant. I moved here when my dad retired from the Navy about 10 years ago. I love it and will never go back anywhere else to live.

Madison WI area. People are great. I think Middleton was quite high in top ten places to live in the US.
