Our KIA 2002 in dash stereo is so acting badly. It does the following spontaneously:
powers up
changes channels
switches over from radio to CD player
antenna extends and retracts
My gf told me KIA had replaced it once some years ago but now it's out of warranty.
A friend who used to work for BB installing new auto stereos told us we should get an installation kit which he detailed to us. Now I need to select a new stereo unit. I saw the article about the Asteroid by Parrot and I'm interested except I don't want to pay an arm and leg for features I question we'll ever use. I doubt we'll go with a gps since the screen may be too small for my eyes. 3G? yah, if it were free.
I like the idea of no CD player since here in Minneapolis (current temperature 0 degrees) it may not play. Yes, I'm computer literate and like gadgets. Asteroid availability 2Q and I would like to change the SDHC without removing the unit. Any suggestions?
