i need to replace my latop fan

its making a horrible clicking sound.
I left my laptop in the car one chilly morning but when i came out 2 hours later and it was blazes. so i suspect the heat warped something and thats why its clicking.

its a acer aspire 5000 series. i googled around and didnt find anything really.
I havnt taken it apart yet to see if the clicking can be fixed but I wouldnt think so..

See if acer offers replacement parts. You might be able to buy a replacement fan unit from them -- I know that dell and HP have decent part stores, etc. If not, some laptop resellers might have parts. I know impactcomputers.com has a lot of parts for various machines.

And yeah, the forums do look nice. I love the fact that there are no image signatures and mountains of lame softcore porn avatars, etc. One of the reasons I keep coming back to anandtech is because it doesn't have that dorky adolescent feel like a lot of forums.

I've been playing around with the different color scheme options. Not sure if I prefer the green to the blue.
