I need to refill my 1997 Accord's A/C. Anyone with how-to knowledge?

Over last winter, I'd occasionally put the a/c on to quickly defog the windows and noticed that each time(over several months) the A/C was less and less.. potent. I am aware that people often refill their R134a(mine is the newest type), but have searched the web and found no diagrams or tips at all! Has anyone here done it to a honda, or have any experience to pass on? THe heat has struck and there's not a chance I'm paying Honda $250 to do it ^_^ Thanks!

You should be able to find a local shop to do it for like $50. If you over fill it bad things happen....

not only that but there is a high pressure side and a low pressure side....removing the wrong side is like playing russian roulette

just spend the money on a shop (call around to get the best price),i don't know how it is now, but a few years ago,epa made it tougher w/new laws to change your own freon,by raising prices etc...

You have a leak somewhere in the system. Yes, you can refill it with new 134a....but do you really want to be doing this every couple of months?

IMHO, get the system leak-checked, fixed, and refilled properly by an experienced tech.

That's true. I'm about to move to seattle, and I wanted to conserve some money and just get myself through the summer =)

AC fixes can be super expensive. 2 cans of 134a should fill it, the cans cost $5 each, the hose can be reused and cost me $8. $10 every 2 months is cheaper to me then paying $600-800 to fix a bad compressor or the like

That must be a gold plated compressor or needs engine removal to get to
