I need to recover the admin password for Microsoft Mail

A company I work at has two servers, one a 2000 file server and an old internal mail server running Microsoft Mail over Win NT 4.
This works for us so PLEASE don't start talking to get me to upgrade, I need an answer to this problem.

I started working as the network admin recently. The last guy quitted the job and didn' t left me almost any password and I need to admin the mail server (create and delete some users) and don't have any passwords.

Any ideas?

Why not call/send e-mail to the old guy.

Or ask your boss to contact him.

dont you have any user in the domain admin group?
since its such an old system its possible to decrypt the password since its only using lanmanger (lm) hashes, dont know what program would work best


But I am going to recomend an upgrade, get a new spanking server. Get Windows2003 small business server, with that you can do everything a small company needs, it includes a mail server.
