I have a Maxtor 40gig and I want to make a exact copy onto a IBM 60gig. I have a trial edition Ghost CD that I got with my SOYO MB. When I go and look into the disc it gives me 2 folders "read-only" and "write-only". If i click on one of them it just breifly pops up a DOS-prompt window then goes away. ???? I just want a copy of my hard drive so if my Maxtor gets damaged I can just boot from my IBM. What should I do and what options do I have?

Ghost's "disk to disk" can do it. You can buy Ghost for $15 or less if you look hard enough.

Maxtor utility is called .MaxBlast

Download and install it only a floppy.

Boot from the floppy and start the transfer.

I'd recommend Ghost for ease of use and speed, though DOS's xcopy command will work too, though much more of a pain in the ass than Ghost. if you look around enough, you should be able to get Ghost without much trouble... ;)
