any idea of how to do this? i walk by his desk and he'll minimize/close his windows, but i know that he's chatting online. i want to log his usage and later question him about it.

i'd also be willing to settle for a way to block usage of this program altogether.

I constantly close my windows when people come up to my desk. I do it even when I'm actually working on stuff. I just don't like people looking at my screens even though I know it seems suspicious.

In the yahoo messenger options, turn on Archiving. Then, each day after he/she leaves, take a glance to get an idea of how much chatting is being done each day.

ugh...websense is evil. they used it to find all of the flash vids i would laugh at. superJer's "mcdiddy's" was one of my favorites but alas not at work anymore 🙁

We use websense at my agency. The only time I hate it is when I want to check out xbox-scene or mess with my fantasy football team....

Windows key + D or Windows key + M 😉

I used to just alt-tab back to the "work" application. I think going to a blank desktop is way too suspicious.

do people who use this forum have social dysfunction or what? why not just ask him about it?

Ask him about it and then let him know you will be installing software on his machine to monitor his activity. Its legal as long as he is aware of it.

websense is evil. they have it at morgan stanley. cannot check webmail 🙁

too lazy for cough*proxy*cough

Websense isn't evil, it's the admin's settings. I have websense installed here at work, and I find VERY little sites I can't access. Collegehumor.com is blocked, but i-am-bored.com isn't.
