I started the week off at the DMV and my damn jeep failed. Unforunately to make matters worse the worker who tested my truck was Spanish and spoke halting English. I had to take the jeep to a shop and find out what was wrong. Then I went to a Wendys and they mess up my order but none of the people at the Wendy's can understand me.

Don't get me wrong, I do seriously want to learn Spanish. I know some Spanish but I would like to really learn it faster then saying cómo se dice every two minutes. Anyone have experience learning a language fast? I already took Spanish in college and that was a waste of time.

I am learning too. Atleast trying. I took it for 4 years in highschool and never really practiced it afterwards. However my current GF is from Nicaragua and lived there until she was about 12. She has a very strong accent and i love it to death! She speaks English perfectly as well. However, I can't really talk to her mom because her mom doesn't speak that much English. She speaks enough to do the small talk and what not, but not like my gf. I wanna learn though just because now I hang around alot of spanish people, and I would like to be able to communicate in spanish to them as well :) I definitely can understand it alot better than I can speak it.

I assume you are out of college, but if not keep going. The quality of the Spanish classes I took in college was leaps and bounds better once you got past the required-for-everyone classes into the classes for majors where people wanted to be there.

Otherwise, are you willing to travel and do an immersion program? If not, and you want to go fast, look for a personal tutor.

You might be right, I only took Spanish 101. I suppose I can go back for 102 ( I did graduate already). Looking online for information and there is a lot of Spanish programs, but none seem to have quotes in the press.

Heh, where do you live? In New Jersey the Spanish population has to be close to the 25/30% mark by now. It's exploding and I don't think I can teach them all.

Maybe you're just a tard?

If you couldn't learn it in college, how are you going to learn it "fast"?

Who said I didn't learn anything in college? Man, ATOT has been so quick to insults lately. Would you like me to recite the numbers and how to say the time of day in spanish for you?

I would like to see how far you get in a conversation about your car failing DMV inspection saying numbers repeatedly.

I am guessing you go to Rutgers in Brunswick? Do you feel like it is only 12% of the population there?
