it has both s-video and composite video jacks. is it possible to hook it up to my VCR and play DVD movies on my TV? my VCR only has composite video jacks but my TV has no jacks for s-video or composite. so i will have to run it through my VCR. will this work?

Yep. I assume then that you watch movies on channel 3? Or your TV has no video jacks because the VCR is already using them? Either way, set up the TV as you would to watch a tape, plug the video card into the VCR, then put the VCR on the AUX or Input channel or whatever they call it. You'll also need to run a splitter cable from your sound card to the VCR, the kind with a 1/8" headphone jack on one end and left and right RCA jacks on the other.
