i need to help with my mic

hello my mic is really messed up it works on my old computer but not on my new one. When i talk into it .. i hear what i say out the speakers but the person i am trying to talk to does not hear it. I have tried testing it, unmuting etc. Do you know how to fix this ?
Ps. i am using msn to talk

Make sure your microphone is plugged into the "mic" port and not the "line-in" port.

yes i did i plugged it into the plug that has the microphone on da top🙂

I'm not in windows now, but if you go into sound and multimedia properties I think you can set it up that way. You probably have already done that, but it is all I can think of at the moment.

Try reinstalling the msn/chat program and see if it helps to resolve the problem. btw what os are you running? What is your sound card?

yea i got tried reinstalling it i have also tried downloading other versions but it dont work my sound card is AC 97 2 Channel Integrated with 1 Line in, 1 line out, 1 Microphone in
