Damn, I suck.

Seriously...

So I was asked to choose between two events when a friend called me on the phone. My other friend was next to me and was like "NO you better not ditch me." So I tried to tell the friend on the phone that I should probably go to the event I was planning to go to already, but she obviously wanted me to help drive people to her event. Told her I would call her back.

So I IM her a few minutes later and tell her that I should probably not go with more reasons, and she responded with some stuff. My friend who was walking with me earlier saw the IM and took my laptop and started b!tching my friend out.

I was an idiot for letting that happen. I couldn't say a firm NO, and I should be apologizing... but umm.. yea...

LoL... nah. We're in a community service organization at our university. I was signed up for a volunteer project. The girl who called me was leading some of our people to visit another chapter's weekly meeting (interchapter events), and because I'm one of the few drivers, they needed me to drive people. OF course, we're a service organization and service should come first before some other chapter's meeting, and to be honest I wanted to do the service more than I wanted to visit another chapter's meeting.

I just felt like I was abused as a driver and somehow I'm expected to say yes to people who need me to drive.

I don't think so. Confidence yes but arrogance no. We don't want doormats either. Well some women want doormats so they can walk all over them. I think that when guys are complaining that they are "nice guys" and girls don't like them because of that, they are really saying that they are doormats. I don't want a guy that does everything I say. That's not a man that's a pet. But nobody can tell me what to do either.

Don't grovel at her feet, just explain the situation to her, if she doesn't like it then forget her. You had a good reason for doing what you did.
