Now the question is where do I begin to even start searching. I received a futon from my sister some time ago and recently got the frame for it. But there is a missing component that I need to get made because it holds the frame together as well as letting it slide from bed to sofa modes. Unfortunately I don't know who the manufacturer is and there aren't any labels to help identify such. The piece in question can be made out of wood, like it was originally or made of any other strong material. I'm not an image expert so I just did the image in MS paint, which can been seen here.

It's about 2 inches in length and 1 inch in height. The middle circle is a hole in the center that would allow a metal bar to slide into it.
We come back to the question: Where in the world would I look to even begin trying to get this made or purchase a pre-made equivilant to it? What do you guys think?

I live in Sacramento, California BTW :)

Seriously...a jig saw and drill (to start the inside hole) is all you need to make this yourself!

If you're like me and don't have any of those power tools, you can check your Yellow Pages for craft shops that have custom-made wood crafts. Take your broken piece there and they'll probably be able to make you one.

I'm a starving student living in a tiny one room studio :)
I slept on a bed of milk crates and card board before my sis gave me that futon...hee hee.. serious!
