I need to find out what's using up all of my CPU

A bit more info would be helpful.....

Use teh CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up Windows Task Manager. Click the 'Processes' tab and take a look at what Image Name is consuming the CPU utilization.

Do you have an up to date anti-virus program and have you run it lately? Spyware?

Like upthemiddle said, open up task manager and look at your memory resident processes and their cpu utilization. Look for a minute or two and you should see something. How do you know your cpu is being used?

AVG found 11 trojens but it only gets rid of 1. What do I do?
1) disable System Restore

2) uninstall AVG

3) install a 30-day trialware of Kaspersky Personal 5

4) go to its Settings tab, set the real-time scanner and the on-demand scanner both to Maximum, and set its Configure Updater to "From Internet, extended databases."

5) right-click Kaspersky's tray icon and have it execute the update.

6) reboot into Safe Mode and let Kaspersky hammer out a full scan overnight.

7) might also be good to afterwards run a scan with Microsoft Antispyware Beta and Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer. Also run a port scan against your system if it's not behind a router: Symantec.
