i need to drain batteries as fast as possible...

i tried out my new Nimhs i picked up from the hotdeals...but they died after freaking 3 shots!!! pissed me off, but then i read that you gotta use them multiple times... and have to deplet and recharge

well...............how do i do that? I'm currenly just recoindg many movies from the camera and hoping my a75 stresses it as much as possible...i don't have too fancy equipment with me (just the battery charger) but does anyone have a good idea on how to depete them fast....so i can charge them and see if they last longer

Uh.. lol...

This thread makes baby jesus cry.

Brain batteries? Is that some twist of the memory effect?

The memory effect doesen't apply to NiMH batteries.

But seriously, did you.. *gasp*.. charge them before you used them?

Rechargable batteries lose their charge quite quickly. After a month, most rechargables will only have something like 30% of their charge remaining. Your batteries had been sitting on the shelf God knows how long.

It does take 2-3, possibly 4-5 drain/charge cycles to get the batteries to charge to full capacity.

Also, what battery charger do you have? You must be aware that your battery charger is directly responsible for how well your batteries charge. A couple of points; Heat is bad. Fast charging is bad because of heat.

Anyway, charge your batteries and get back to us. What a concept! 😛

For reference, I can get 350 - 500 pictures out of my Powerex 2200mAh batteries and Maha C401-FS charger, depending on settings used(flash, etc) with my A60. That's two 256mb flash cards full.

Everything you ever wanted to know about rechargable batteries... and more.

Well... you could just short them out to discharge, but I wouldn't recommend that.
