I have an ati radeon with svideo out, but i dont have an svideo tv. whats the best way to watch videos on my tv? i found things like these s-video to rca cable
svideo to rca connector but are they the best solution? i know the conversion will degrade the quality, but it shouldnt make it worse than watching it on my 15inch monitor. so any suggestions at all would be helpful,
thanks,

Check the Radeon plug. If it is 7-pin then a 7-pin adapter is required. If a 4-pin one is used the output will be in black & white. I do not know if the one from s-video.com will work you may want to ask them. Otherwise the correct one can be orderd from ATI for $15 shipped.

Here's how to build an S-video to composite adaptor. I bought an S-video cable and an RCA plug and with a little soldering had a 3' long adaptor for about $5 instead of the $18-20 that most places charge. The adaptor from Parts Express is about the cheapest I've seen and with an S-video cable would probably be the simplest soloution. I've ordered from PE before and they have really good service and prices. You will lose some quality because composite video is inherently lower quality than S-video, but it shouldn't be enough to notice.

Didn't your Radeon come with an S-Video to RCA adaptor? My Radeon VE came with one, and so did my Abit Siluro GeForce4 MX440. Heck, even my good old 3dfx Voodoo3 3000 came with one. I'd be surprised if your Radeon didn't, or did you misplace it?
