Newegg and FedEx (Saver)!

Ordered the AGOIA for $53 w/ free shipping, and 48 hours later (from placing the order), I have the package in my hand. I am in the NE, too.

Woohoo! :)

wow, did you order it early in the morning so it would be shipped the same day? Im in california and that sounds like a pretty good time for even me...but i usualyl end up having to order late at night so it sometimes doesnt even get shipped the next day, either that or its a friday that I order. :D I got some stuff from SVC the day after i ordered it (which must have been like 4:30pm the day before, too!)

Good shipping is always a pleaser.

UPS Sucks!
Not in my area, here FedEx lost my last 2 shipments from Newegg. The first one was only lost for a couple of days while they figured out which wrong address they delivered to. My most recent one was lost for over THREE WEEKS. Long after they told me to file a claim and I had Newegg ship a replacement order they show up here with the missing box. Now I have to get it back to Newegg.

UPS on the other hand has been great, no package problems over several years and dozens of packages.

Switch those around and you've got it for my area. FedEx is suck! They always deliver my stuff from NewEgg a day late after letting it sit around in their warehouse for no reason.

Hmm that's odd, I never thought area had anything to do with it!. Guess I know better now, I'm in west Cali, Bay Area and UPS is FAR BEYOND SUCK. They suck more than anything has ever sucked before in my lifetime :p.

Right on both accounts. Actually, it was a little after noon for me, but being on EDT, it's rather early in California.
So, yeah, shipped out same day, here two days later.

UPS normally does suck, although the UPS guy that delivers here at least drops the stuff of w/o even me signing anything. Fortunately, nothing was ever lost so far.

Edit: Oooooo, 999 posts. Gotta find a worthy post 1000.

Why don't you lazy bastards just drive over to your local parts shop? :)

I find the prices to be very very close to any online retailer (I actually go to the store of an online retailer), don't have to pay shipping, and I get to take it home right away.

Not for me, I find that most of the computer shops around me charge an extra 20-40% over what new egg charges. For example, one of our vid cards at work fried so I ran out to find an emergency replacement. I found a Sapphire ATI Radeon 7000 at one of these computer shops and almost bought it- until i saw the price... 75$ for a cheap peice of silicon in a plastic bag! gah. I could have easily bought it at newegg for 45 or so shipped. I find that the only market that local shops can compete is on heavy items like cases and really light cheap things like mice or cables.

For everything else its newegg or googlegear

Same here, especially since there aren't any "small" computer shops in my area, but the typical corporate Comp USA's and Best buy's, etc. They ocassionally have good deals that compete with the online retailers, but when you need something quick, and don't want to wait for it to go on sale at the store, newegg is the way to go.
