I've used flasks to take whisky to festivals because I like whisky better than beer. I'll take a cask strength whisky, then dilute it on site to ~70 proof. Not ideal, but I get some whisky.

I do this as well. I've only been busted once, and the guy said "finish it or dump it" ... so I ended up slamming 8oz of whiskey or so on the spot. That was a good show. :D My GF is a saint and packs those plastic bag looking flasks in her bra just for me. I get a little extra booze because of her. :wub:

We just stuck regular flasks in our boots. Hell, most places were only concerned about bottles, you could bring in an entire liter of Jack Daniels if it was in a wineskin. It used to be that bourbon in a Lipton Ice Tea plastic bottle worked almost anywhere. Before 9-11 it was a great way to carry liquor on a plane.

They should make a fake NES where when you put the "cartridge" in, it fills it. Nobody walks around with just a NES cartridge, but if you have a backpack with an NES and a bunch of "games" and controllers, then it looks less suspicious, and you can carry more alcohol. :p It could have a transparent straw from the bottom, so at quick glance when you're drinking it just looks like you're blowing in the cartridge.

If you need an entire backback filled with disguised booze it might be time to look into a good 12 step program.

Do you have to blow in it?

Funny thing is, everyone did that and it had no effect. What the real problem was is the side loading. Nintendo latter made a top loader Nintendo and that solved the problem. Did you ever have this problem with Super? I think not.

Yeah I think it was the act of removing it and putting it back that made it work. The blowing in it was just an illusion that it made it work.

100% false.

Cite your sources. You will find the ones that claim "confirmation bias" about blowing are themselves using supposition and confirmation bias with no actual testing.

On the other hand, I can prove it.

FYI: I've acquired and methodically tested over 100 NES games in the last month.

Since when is that a myth. I always thought blowing in it did help as a kid, figured it was dust or something. But then later on it was determined it did not do anything, so now you're saying it actually DID help? This better be in one of the last episodes of mythbusters. :p

Kinda like blowing on food after it falls on the ground, not sure if that really does anything to blow off the germs it may have picked up off the floor but I STILL do it. lol.

I also have a more recent test my brother performed with even more duplicate games on a different Nintendo that did not have the CIC chip disabled.

Alcohol is insanely expensive at fairs/theme parks/sports stadiums/etc so it makes sense to sneak some in if you can.

There is absolutely no need for this.

My brother is testing another 10 newly acquired games right this very moment on an NES with a flaky connector. He re-seated 8 of them 10+ times (each) before finally blowing in them. Each time he finally blew in it, it worked first try. No exceptions. The other 2 games started working just by re-seating repeatedly.

interestingly enough, we tested a batch of games on a like-new top-loader NES yesterday and it was giving us a really hard time. We cleaned all the games first, but something must have soiled the connector in some way that the NES cleaning kit would not resolve. Blowing was just as effective with the top loader. It has happened to me on SNES as well. In numerous recent cases, I have stubbornly re-seated 100+ times without blowing, then finally resorted to blowing and got it to work first try. There are days when I have no problems at all. The only factors that might be different would be temperature and humidity.
