I need the molecular formula for elmers glue,

i already googled it and can't find it. It seems to be a trade secret, or something like that. Altrhoguh some one may know it. This is for a Sophmore Hihh school Chemistry Lab, about the susbtance it creates when combined with sodium borate, and water.

It makes something like silly puddy, but our task is to dtermine the types of binds between the different constuitents. I Beleive the bonds between the wqater and other stuff are hydrogen bonds. But i think the glue and the sodium borate combine chemically to form a new substance.

Cliff notes:
1. Need chemical forumal for glue

Can't help you with the formula, but I can confirm that mixing glue w/borax does indeed make a putty-like substance.
