I need suggestions for a good webhost.. our server is out ..

Our site http://www.gstwins.com is down because the idiots at 100megswebhosting.com say we are taking up too much load on the shared server.

I checked the email tehy just sent me.. the CPU utilizatoin is 14%. We are a very active board. We have like 2000+ members but at most time only like 20 - 30 people are logged in..surely the guys at 100megswebhosting are kidding.. when its only taking 14% CPU in total to give site access.. we were pushing an average of 40kb/s or 5.9k/request at a rate of 6.5 requests/second.

That is NOTHING. I have had officespace get harder than that when i used to post stuff linking to that server from here. You guys would make it spike to 40% CPU with way more requests per second. Officespace is a dual P3 - 550 with 256 mb.. it can push 40kb/s upload sustained and can handle upto 60users with no problems.

These guys are nuts.. 14% CPU useage.. that's what my XP uses when just navigating sites and switchign windows..

So here is the deal. I need a good webhost that can handle the neffing that goes on the site. I would host it myself but officespace is down because of the PSU is out. It will be back up later this week.

I need a good server with good record and decent prices and somethign that can take the LOAD! obviously these guys cant.

Not to thread crap, but, um, what's with Telnap? Considering the message on there now...

Working fine for me! He's revamping things...after an outage. It'll be back up by week's end.

In the mean time, just PM DeviousTrap, and he can get you rolling.

Edit: For comparison't sake, I pay $7.95/month for 20GB of space and 30GB/month of bandwidth. Or is it 35GB/month? I forget.

One of the Telnap servers had a horrible crash, which unfortunately was out of our control. That just happened to be one of the two servers that at that time were still without offsite backups available and there was some data loss because of that. Everybody at Telnap learned a big lesson because of that and we are now operating with a 1TB offsite server for backups.

We had a great reputation up until last weekend, and this one server going down is now going to be haunting us for a while. I can assure you something like that won't happen again, and the best thing I can do from a business perspective right now if try to entice clients in, even if it means for free, if that can help rebuild the good reputation we had before.

well i will try talk to John, teh site owner.. the SOB never gave me his contact info, i have all the other people's info's.
I know he lives in phoenix AZ now.. iam going to try find him using white pages.

Devioustrap.. i will PM you, i have heard great things for your site. We will pay for it. Our database last checked was about 2.2gb at last check. I think.. but i will double check and let you know stuff.
