I am suggesting nothing just talking to myself :D go ahead and buy the 7750, it's a very decent card.

Make sure if you do get a 7750 it has DDR5 not DDR3. The DDR3 version sucks for gaming.

Can your budget afford a 7790? The 7750 is not bad but the 7790 is a good step and would last even if you upgraded your cpu.

GTX 650. Slightly faster than the HD 7750 and slightly more expensive. Still very low power consumption.

An even more budget-friendly GPU would be the AMD Radeon HD 7730. It should be decent at 1366x768. I have no idea when it will be available.

Regardless, do yourself a favor and get the GDDR5 version of whatever GPU you get.

7730? Interesting news. Might have to get one, to replace my HD4850.

Udayi,

I understand you want to purchase a gfx card, and that you are on a tight budget. However, do you know what types of games you want to play with this new card, or are you just trying to get the most performance for your dollar?

If you could let us know at least your budget we could be of more help. For example if your budget is ~$100 you could get a Sapphire 7770 for $95 after rebate. If you take a look at anandtech bench you'll see that this card performs better than both 7750 & 650.

I'm working on a project to track benchmarks and price to the games and resolutions that they are to be played on (for questions like these). Don't feel obliged but drop me a line with your thoughts - its on my profile. Btw letting me know it sucks is OK too ;)

Have a gtx650 myself currently running 1280x1024 for the moment, awesome card and basically every review suggests with a overclock that they can surpass the 7770.

Guess the counter argument will be that the 7750 can be overclocked as well, but when i buy cards usually i buy them for stock performance, the oced performance is icing on the cake if there is any.

it is alright going for 7750, as you have low resolution and this gpu will handle all the newer games at medium settings. it is fine

on the other hand you may have another choice of physx card 650. physx gpu have quite a noticable role in damn nvidia supported games. you will definitely get better performance from 650 in more nvidia games.

i would like to go for nvidia GPU more than AMD. because of two things

1. flawless Driver
2. More nvidia supported games out there.

You may have to drop settings here and there but you will be able to play.
