sounds like something is the dns is fubard...but this isn't my area of expertise

I would wait to see if someone else answers with a better idea or just format and reload

same here give me hardware issues and i'll figure them out in no time...but my solution to software glitches that elude my skill ar format and reload

Hmm... I had a few people who I fixed computers for that had similar problems. Turned out to be a rather nasty virus... might want to try the antivirus route, try downloading AVG Antivirus and updating the defs and scanning your computer for viruses...

You did say it's random websites that don't work, so it could also be a network config or DNS issue... idk. Good luck.

oh my god. thanks for the tip about the antivirus, apparently norton wasnt doing its job.

When I saw this thread last night I was sure it would be over 100 posts by this morning... guess that was wrong!
