I need some warm gloves!

I want to find a nice pair of warm gloves. These will basically be for walking the dog in the winter. So nothing too big and bulky, I need to be able to hold the leash decently. And no mittens/choppers, I want the fingers! Minneapolis, MN, so it gets chilly here, plus the wind!

I have poor circulation so my fingertips go numb pretty fast. I saw some made by 180 degrees that had a port in them that you could blow in and the warm air from your breath warmed you up! And they let the moisture out so your fingers didn't get wet. Sounded like a good idea, but they weren't cheap, so don't want to just get them on a wim. I know many gloves talk about their "space age" materials and that they're warm, but I've found they don't live up to the advertising.

Look for ones with Thinsulate. Those usually work pretty well. Also, maybe use those handwarmer things.

I'm not super impressed with Thinsulate, maybe I need a heavy grade of it. The problem with the handwarmers, they don't get really warm until the end of the walk, plus then they keep going so a lot gets wasted.

I should mention, she's only a little 15 pound terrier so the walks are about 30 minutes only.

You can buy battery-powered electric gloves. In fact, I've seen electric pants, jackets and socks advertised too. I've been thinking of getting a pair of electric gloves for cold nights this winter when I'm out with the telescope.

For really cold weather i wear surplus wool gloves ($2?) from an Army/Navy inside a pair of leather gloves ($10).

My wife is like that too, well sorta! She takes her gloves off usually half way, while I can't feel my fingers.

Get some leather gloves with Thinsulate. If that's not warm enough, put on a pair of fleece gloves as a liner.

Just got back from the walk. I looked at my gloves, they are fleece with 40 gram Thinsulate. It's about 30-35 degrees with no wind and they were close to being warm enough. I know they aren't when it gets a little colder. I like warm much better than cold, so I want all parts of my body to be comfortable.

Maybe I should look for heavier Thinsulate.
