I need some situational help.

My grandmother used to live here in atlanta. She had no family here other than me, so she moved to Tennessee to live with her sisters. She bought some property up there with an old run down house, and her son offered to help her if he can stay with her/them. She agreed. It's been 6 months and almost nothing has happened progress-wise. He is literally just feeding off of her money and prospective home. He's a drunk and a drug addict.

I found out this morning she's absolutely fed up with it. Apparently someone else mentioned to him that she might sell the property and apparently he threatened to burn it down. It's a huge drama mess.

What would you recommend? I think she should tell him that it's nothing against him; but there is just too much time needed to fix up this old house. Then, she could come back here and live with her daughter (my mom) until he left (only should take a month or so before he'd have to leave) Then sell the property and buy an actual house.

I dunno.

RANT.

Why ask our opinion, its your family.

Because I dunno wtf to do. He's some crazy nut that is known for getting revenge; and I've never been in this situation before.

She needs to get him out of the house unless he's willing to stop mooching off of her. His threat of burning it down is worrisome, however. I'm not sure what the best course of action would be, but good luck to her.

is he going to have to leave because he'll run out of money? or is there some other reason?

Have her call the cops and have him removed from the house.

File a police report that he threatened to burn the house down.

Get a restraining order against him.

Sell the house and move somewhere else.

I really don't see what the problem is. There are certain things you have to do sometimes to protect your life and property. This is one of them.

Now, get off ATOT and start working on it, even if you have to travel there and help your grandmother. You aren't going to just let her deal with this herself, are you?

the biggest problem you are going to have now is even if the house burns down, if his lawyer is smart and gets lucky he can say you posted this on a board with over 50k members and someone copycatted it.

It's a crappy situation. Even with a restraining order it could be messy, which is why hitmen have a profession.
