I have a old pc it's a hp pavilion p6330f and i'm looking to see if i can upgrade it i did look it up and it's saying i can put a i5 or i7 in it and i was looking at a NVIDIA GeForce GTX550TI for it and i put a 750w power supply in it

Better go for new mobo+ cpu. that h57 chipset is outdated. those 1st gen i cpus don't have avx.

try for something like i3/i5 6xxx, you don't need more than 400-450w psu.

Many posters on this site think "computer enthusiast" = "spending money to meet arbitrary $ outlay".

It's hard to decide which nubs to ignore.

But be assured you can absolutely upgrade your PC, and if OP or someoone else can work out what sort of replacement CPUs & PSUs can fit inside the puter that would help.

go to ebay and buy an i7 870 for $50 and pair it with a 100$ gtx 1050 and you wont need a new power supply. That should at least triple your gaming performance. Or as others have said buy a i3 6100 and cheap z170 board.
