I need some opinions on upgrading! Help!

I have some extra cash coming my way ($500) and I was wondering if I should upgrade my rig.

These are my stats -

PIII 800eb
Asus CUSL2 mobo
Annihilator 2 GTS (Creative's GeForce II)
256 MB PC133 CAS2 SDRAM (Corsair)
SB Live MP3
Maxtor Diamondmax 30 GB 7200 RPM
Plextor 24/10/40 CD-RW
Pioneer 16x DVD-ROM
Teac Floppy drive
Supermicro 750a Server case w/ a ton of fans
Cambridge Soundworks FPS1800 speakers

Anything that could use some upgrading?

I want to get an Athlon, but I can't decide to wait a bit longer or get one now. Any opinions or ideas? Should I wait???

Almost exactly the same as my rig. I think you should wait.

Wait for the Athlon prices to drop after Intel cuts there prices. It may not be a significant price drop but it will free some money up for a better mobo and a new vid card. Nvidia should drop the price of the Geforce3 or GeForce3 Ultra to match ATI's Radeon 8500. Ur also gonna need some new memory. You can get a 1.4Athlon + AMD 761 Mobo + 256MB PC2400 DDR + GeForce3 for under $600 at pricewatch.com. Just wait till september and you can have practically a new system 🙂

1.33 Ghz Athlon + Motherboard + 512 MB RAM + New PSU + Great cooling fan = less than $500 !!!

And I wouldn't get a GeForce3 right now, I would wait either for ATI Radeon 8500 to come out with good drivers, or (which is related) for GeForce3 to go down in price.
