I need some ipod mini help please

Ok so my girlfriend's ipod started giving her error displays. She's had it for about 8 months and only used it a few times.

The first is a battery symbol with a lightning bolt going through it. I'm pretty sure that one means the battery is dead? I could be wrong. Does she need to send it to apple for a new one?

The second is a frown face, with a exclamation symbol next to it. I searched around and saw people with the same issue but could not find a solution to it. Anyone have a clue as to what it is??

The computer does not recognize it when its plugged into the USB port either.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer. I'm sure people here have had more experience with ipods than i have since i don't own one.

It either means she should have taken it out of her pocket before you started knocking her up or you have to work on your social skills and call apple support.

Who are you to talk about social skills when you waste your time replying to something you know nothing about. Don't answer if you have nothing intelligent to say. Maybe apple support could help you with your social skills, and use your time to meet real people instead of posting stupid sassy remarks online. Thanks. With the battery and the lightning bolt, try plugging it into the wall with the AC->Firewire adapter. That should charge the battery for you.
