I just started this new math class and I've been using the same calculator for quite some time. It is a Sharp EL-531L Advanced D.A.L. Very basic, scientific calculator.

I'm trying to figure out how to use the "mean" function, aka the x with the bar over the top. On this particular calculator, it is a green icon over the main button which has a parentheses symbol (. I figured out how to get to STAT mode and punch in the values for computing my mean, but I can't get the final answer because I need to get to this green icon of which there are only a few on the entire calculator. The 2nd Function button only works for the Yellowish symbols above the main button.

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know what I'm talking about? BTW, I did go to Sharp-usa.com but they don't have the manuals available online for Educational Calculators....which is ridiculous being that they have them for other areas like Business for example.

Anyone know of a good math message board out there that I could go to? I need to get this figured out soon! Thanks for the help!

Don't know of a message board, but... maybe check to see if there's different modes on the calculator. I've owned some with a STAT mode -- maybe that's how to make those buttons take effect.

Yeah, I've already figured out how to get to stat mode, and I'm able to input values, but then when I try to get the answer is my problem. I can't figure out how to get to the green icon.
