I need some help with my asus cuv4x motherboard

I need help with my computer.
I started off with a
700Mhz Intel Pentium III chip
Asus CUV4x Motherboard
40X CDROM
15G Maxtor Hard drive 7200
56k Modem USR
G400 Matrox Video card.
128 MB Micron PC100
250 Watt powersupply
Everything was going great with my computer until I installed the Yamaha CDRW. it is an 8x4x24. Everything began to slow down and the c drive took longer to load. I was having a lot of problems with the computer stalling. recently, I added a 250 MB USB Zip drive. And I am having lots of trouble. I was thinking that it could be memory problems, ie I should get more. Or possibly because I'm using the onboard sound card that is provided with the cuv4x. I don't know what is wrong with the computer. Please help.

I bet it is the zip drive..unload the zip and the CD-RW drivers, and see if that corrects the problem..if so, I would bet you do NOT need more memmory. I have seen zip drives causing problems in win2000. What OS are you running?
