I need some help with my assignment...

I've kind of got in my head how I want to write this essay, but maybe you guys could give me some ideas on how to expand.

The essay requires me to asnwer two questions:

1. Paying attention to both mind and body, discuss how parents are able to enthral (to hold or reduce to slavery) their children.

2. Why is it possible and impossible for parents to create autonomy in their children.

It's the 2nd part that I'm having trouble with. The only thing I can come up with is why it's impossible. I would say it's impossible because a parent can not teach a child to be autonomous. They can only give it the tools it needs to learn to be autonomous on it's own.

Any thoughts?
