I need some help regarding TCP/IP version 6

Is there any specific reason why someone would be using this right now? Is it common place with everyone? I can't seem to get this computer to get online (I'm using another 'puter right now to type this) and within the ipconfig /all it has a bunch of TCP/IP version 6 stuff and some kind of teredo tunnel. I know this is the wrong place to ask this but I really need an answer fast. Thanks.
 
Some people use it on their home lans just cause they can really. I've never used it so I can't be of any help. This post serves as a bump.
