I need some help please

i have built a new pc and i'm running windows xp but the problem is when i install any software or driver or anything and restart my pc the waiting windows last for ever
p.s : (after i installed all the hardwares i installed windows xp , don't i have to setup BIOS or anything else )

Did you install the drivers for your motherboard and video card?

It sounds like you need to read the manual that came with your motherboard. When you're sure you followed those instructions, if you're still having problems, come back, and give us details of what happens when the problems arise. Include the make and model of your motherboard, RAM, video card, hard drive(s), power supply and anything else that could affect the performance of your system.

you need to adjust setting in the BIOS as the 1st step before ever installing a OS. Power Saving, HDD Performance, etc..

I would agree with Harvey, check to see if you did everything correctly and then provide additional info on your system

motherboard : Intel DX38BT
CPU : Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700
RAM :DDR3 1 gb
video card :XFX GeForce 8800 GT Video Card - 512MB DDR3
hard drive : WD 320 gb
power supply : 550 watt
