slight preference towards USB and wireless is always awesome, but really, I just need something that I can wear for hours at a time without hurting my ears/head.

if its for a desktop, you can do what i feel is a much superior way of doing things and get a pair of nice headphones with a desktop mic. virtually every headset ive tried has been uncomfortable and made like garbage compared to similarly priced headphones. Even ones like the icemat siberias (okay, its been a few years since i tried), they felt cheap and flimsy to me. not to mention headphones can be a ton more versatile.

To each their own, i suppose.

what's your budget? While not cheap, the Astro A40 Headset is godly, very comfortable, sounds great and has one of the best mics I've heard. Not USB nor wireless, and is $250 bucks, or $200 without the amp. I just ordered the Plantronics 377's about 5 minutes ago. They're decent, I got them for a steal so I jumped. The Plantronics 777 are comfortable and have a USB connector. I think the "hurting your head" varies from person to person. This was one of the reasons I was looking for reviews of the 377's before I ordered (I have a large head lol) I only found a couple that commented on comfort level. Like 2 said they hurt to wear and would feel really tight after 20 minutes, 3 said they could wear them 6 hours with no tightness. Who the hell do I believe? I ordered them and hope they either don't hurt, or it's not enough to bother me.

I wanted the Astro A40's but the price is well out of my range for now.
