i can't find any tables lower than a min bet of $10, is that as low as it goes nowadays in vegas?Originally posted by: spidey07
You're allowed to take the card with you to the table. Just lay it on the table and follow that or ask the dealer "what's the card say?". The "card" is for 6 deck assuming totally random cards each time. Follow it to the letter and you'll give the house around 1.5% I think. But it depends on the rules and if they pay 1.5 for blackjack.
You will run into really crappy cards and there isn't anything you can do but bet the minimum, but if you feel or see lots of little cards then bet bigger. tip your dealer and your drink lady and you'll be fine.

Tip #1 on Blackjack...
Go to a Crabs table, pick the guy with the most chips and is winning, bet after him.
Depends on where and when you're playing. Where are you staying? The 5 dollar tables are out there, but they'll be packed...ask a boss where they are and they'll tell you.Originally posted by: JohnCU

If you want to play this game you'll need a bankroll to absorb the bad cards. 10 dollar table means 200 bucks min.

I haven't played at Harrahs in a long time. I don't live in vegas or even on the west coast, just a visitor a few times a year. Run over to Bellagio, they'll have 5 dollar tables. But for the most part 5 dollar tables are hard to find on the strip except for casino royale. Downtown vegas 5 buck tables are all over the place.Originally posted by: JohnCU

The reason it's not working is because even if you play every hand perfectly the odds favor the house. Either be smart enough to not play or smart enough to accept that you're going to lose.Originally posted by: JohnCU
I'm in Vegas on business but have a lot of free time so I got one of those little cards that tell you when it's best to stand or hit etc and memorized it and have been playing according to those rules but it's not working damnit.
Or, learn to count cards and even if you can do that, it doesn't mean you always get the right cards, but a player can have a small edge, if counting is mastered and you have proper discipline.Originally posted by: GagHalfrunt

Actually, they don't really mind it, unless you start winning a lot.Originally posted by: Deeko
