I need some advice on a possible degree for college.

Given that I'm 24, and basically rotting away in job that doesn't offer any kind of advancement in position and life as a whole, I'm thinking of heading off to get a higher education. I've already spoke to the boss about it, and he seems completely supportive in allowing me to work a slightly different shift to take night classes. Not working or working part-time is not an option for me.

My fiance just started at a local small college, and I'm considering going to the same place. The only thing that really interests me that they offer is an associate's degree in business management. My question to you guys is how much will an associate's degree in business management offer me? I know salary depends on location, but I'm not looking at $10/hour starting out, am I? Although my local campus does not offer a bachelor's degree in this field, I always have the option of attending another campus in the region if I decided to do so.

My other option is some kind of cert in computers, which is what I know. I've looked into going to college for some kind of cert before, but for some reason I can't get motivated enough to do it. This confuses me, as I'm not sure if I'm just lazy, or if it's a warning that I do not need to go that direction. Central KY isn't really the hotbed for IT employment, either.

I'm hoping someone here can give me some useful information on what would be a better direction for a career. I know most of it weighs on what I want, but what I want is something I can make a career out of, and something that I atleast reasonably enjoy. Also, what are the disadvantages of stopping at an associate's degree, besides the obvious?

Thanks guys for any info.

An AAS isn't worth much. Its best feature is that it gets you halfway to a BS/BA cheaply.
