I just bought the Acer Home server box. Setup was smooth, I got things working. I transferred some video files from my Win XP Pro pc using Richcopy and after about 40 gb it told me the disk was full. But the disk had more than 600 gb free space on it.
So I go to the WHS console. Type in the password, the colored bar moves and moves and moves, after about three minutes window goes to a blank light blue screen and that's it, nothing more happens.
I reboot and retry, same results. I choose "Reset the WHS console" option in the WHS console login in window, same results. I do all of the above on my other client pc running vista home premium, same results.
I do some web searching and find that this light blued screen is not uncommon. I also find out that I need to use remote desktop to get it working again. But I can't find Remote desktop.
I go to Start>All Programs>Accessibility>Communications which is where they tell me it should be, it's not there. All that I see under Communications is Hyper Terminal, Network Connections, Network Setup Wizard, New Connection Wizard, Wireless Setup Wizard.
I put in the XP Pro install disk and ask it to install RDP, it tells me it is already installed on my system.
Yes, I am using the administrator account to do this. What else should I try?
