wait...a hub is also a repeater?!? can anyone else confirm this???

Yes a hub is a multi-port repeater. Every electrical signal that enters any port is replicated and sent to every other port on the hub. Remember that Cat5 is only within spec up to 100 meters.

FYI, if barebottoms posts it, then believe it.

For a 10baseT connection, the most repeaters you can have is 4. The cabling distance for 10baseT and 100baseTX is 100m.

yeah..that's what I figured..just didn't now that hubs also act as repeaters :) cool!
