I need recommendation for a soldering iron/gun/station.

Hi can someone recommend me a soldering iron >$100 i need to soldering some instrument cables, and maybe some circuit board components. Where would be a good place to order these things? and what do I need to remove old solder? thanks!

Wow, that's pretty hardcore. I was going to reccomend going to radioshack. You can get a soldering iron, solder, and solder-sucker for < $30

I bought one of those and an extra tip. I left it on for 3+ hours on full and the tip stuck to the pencil iron. The pencil that comes with it is a piece of crap. I ended up adding an additional socket on the side and using 2 cheap Hakko pencil irons for quick surface mount stuff. The power control is a simple triac circuit but it works fine.
