Hello I have an Intel 550 is a 3.4 GHz with ht 800MHz FSB. I will like to know if I will feel any performance difference upgrading to the 4200+ x2 or the 4400+ x2. What I basically do on the computer is play games like UT 2004 and doom 3 and far cry. Will I feel any performance difference?

Yes. There will be a fairly large performance jump.

It depends on your video card. If it's bottlenecking you too badly you wont feel the difference at all.

As far as the numbers go (framerate), yes you will see an increase. But seriously, unless you really need the benifit of dual cores (doesn't sound like you will since you are a gamer) you are wasting your money. A 3.4 Ghz P4 is very capable of handling any game out right now. Save your hard earned money till you really need an upgrade.

Unless U allready have a 7800 GTX, 850PE or a 600U ure probably not CPU bound but GPU bound. So no U wont feel much of a diff.
