Well, he's not even going to get in the door if he can't effectively communicate. Coddling him on this issue would serve only to make it more difficult.

He spent a lot of time, effort and money getting the necessary training. It would be a shame to see that wasted because he can't land an interview.

I agree. Interviewing is an artform almost. Monster is a good place to start, but this industry isn't suited for all cities. You have to go where the work is. So...if I were you, look for a city that has some major computer companies or enough companies in general with a need for computer people. I doubt you'll get hired through here without presenting yourself in person...
