I need more games like the Fallout series (PC) and Shadowrun (SNES)

Are there any games out there (both new and old) that are like those two games? By that I mean things like:

-- Takes place in the future
-- Grimy, barren, cybernetic, post-apocalyptic settings where corporations rule
-- RPG-ish
-- A non-first person shooter


I love those two game series to death, and I'm just wondering if I've missed playing some other games that may be similar to them. Thanks for any suggestions.

Deus Ex 1 is good.
Shadowrun on the Genesis was better than on the SNES IMO
There's a Fallout game on the PS2, uses the same engine as the Baldur's Gate PS2 games.

I'll think up more once I get home.

EDIT #1: Perfect Dark Zero looks like it will be like this, never played any other Perfect Dark games.

Planescape: Torment, Wasteland and FO 1-2 are my 4 all-time favorite RPGs.

Fallout Tactics was OK+.

Jagged Alliance 2 is modern rather than post-nuclear (Fn-FAL instead of laser rifle), but the turn-based squad-level tactical combat is really good and the mercs you hire have a lot of personality. There are strong RPG elements in the story, character growth, inventory, and resource management.

Have you played all 3 games in the Fallout series? Fallout 1 and 2 get all the glory, but there's still Fallout Tatics. I've never played FT, though, so maybe the lack of attention means it sucked.

You should definitely try 'Restricted Area'.

Actually that would be DeusEx Invisible War . . . decent gfx, takes place in the futre, definitely a Grimy, barren, cybernetic, post-apocalyptic settings where corporations rule, without a doubt is RPG-ish [and 1st and] 3rd person realtime shooter.

just don't listen to the fanatics that ONLY love the original . . . they are BOTH awesome in their own very different way . . . the original is pretty dated gfx but might be "deeper" . . . it is definitely longer . . . plus you get alternate endings in both games depending on how you choose and and what skills you acquire. both are absolute classics.


if you want the grandaddy of DeuSex, look to SystemShock/2 . . . probably too FPS for you although it IS rpg and in the world you like.
