I know it's an obvios questoin, but are all the speaker connections with your computer correct? It's easy to mix up 2 of 7 connectors with all those speakers.

now that that's out of the way...

Try running the game with the audio in software/safe mode. If that fixes the problem, then try updating the drivers for your sound card.

Also, does it do the same thing when playing mp3s or video files?

i checked the speaker wires..everything is correct. however, i notice that 2 speaker wires, when connected to the sub, it lets out a very low hum...and when i change the power to my room, that hum is louder. that's just some more info, but not what i am concerned about.
i tried playing saving private ryan...i didn't seem to notice any hum. i even paused and listened. now i will try playing the game with just stero sound.

i am fairly sure play movies is fine..however, maybe it is because i am using analog 6 channel direct, it is only stero when i am playing movie...the rear speakers have no sound coming out.
i played call of duty with the miles 2d sound and my sub still hums after a while. nothing makes it go away unless i quit the game or turn off pod . it comes back if i turn on the pod again.

earlier today i also disconnected all the wires from the sub, the hum was there when i played games...so this seems unrelated to speakers

Does the hum get louder when you turn up the volume using the controls on the sub itself (I'm not familiar with that model but I'm assuming it has a volume knob on the box), or does it stay the same?

Does it get louder if you turn up the volume from within Windows?

i am sorry for the empty posts...i am confused with the posting method on this fourm. doesn't seem i can delete them..newbie here
no, turning down the volume has no effect on the hum...in fact, unless i quit the game/music/turn off the pod, the hum doesn't stop. i reconnected all the speaker wires and moved my power to another area, and i got a constant hum when the speakers are turned on..now i moved some wires and that weird problem is sovled. however, the hum with the game still happens.
i have also noticed that there are 2 wire ports on the sub that when any wires with speakers are inserted, creates a constant very low hum..not sure if that's revelant.
to clearfly, so far, it seems that it only hums when playing games/music (i think i heard some hum). it does have a VERY very low hum when powered on, but NOT a real issue. otherwise, it doesn't hum. i am using 6 channel direct.

ok here's the update
i tried z5500 on the motherboard's onboard sound and no hum ever happened (while having the audigy enabled at the same time). so i assume that the humming in game is just a audigy 2 zs problem...but why? anyone know any possible cause?
